GPS & Digital Mapping

  1. I use the MM tracker app on my android phone. MM is based on memory map software. Using the app I load up a relevant 2004 issue OS map and this works well meaning I have no excuse for getting lost.

I just discovered your fantastic site. Your descriptions will ensure that I get to the carpark by 7. I plan to do Kidsty Pike, High Raise, Rampsgill Head, The Knott, High Street, Thornthwaite Crag, and Mardale Ill Bell.

On the topic of a gps, take a look at the eTrex 30 on http://www.garmin.com. I plan to store all of my routes, waypoints, and tracks for 3 weeks fell walking in The Lakes on the gps. The price is good. You can get a map for the Lakes District. I like being able to color code and display selected tracks.
