It’s been decided, it’s in the diary and some of it has even been booked! Next year’s long distance walk will be Wainwright’s Coast to Coast again.
For the first time since 2005 I’ll be walking with someone else on my LDP; Tex Gore has decided to come with me on this one – in fact we’re doing the C2C because this is the walk that he should have accompanied me on in 2006, but had to drop out due to other commitments.
We’ll be starting from St. Bees on the 29th April and arriving in Robin Hood’s Bay 11 days later. Rather than the more traditional 12 day crossing, like I did last time, we’ll be shaving a day off the route to allow us to add a final, very special finish to the walk.
Once we reach RHB we’re going to rest up for the night and then continue down the coast for a couple of miles before picking up the start of the Lyke Wake Walk, which will take us approximately 40 miles back to Osmotherley, where we will have been 3 days earlier.
The logistics of the walk are still to be determined, but I’ll update the diary as we have more information.
It’s a great feeling to have next year’s walk already planned and in the diary!!
