Walk Notes:

This ascent of Jacob’s Ladder was done during my first Pennine Way journey. It is the first proper climb of that long distance path and it tends to be dreaded by those carrying all their gear (and probably too much gear at that) but it’s over before you know it and although it is steep, the steps take the sting out of it in my opinion. This is by far and away the most popular ascent route onto Kinder and also one of the best. The weather this day wasn’t great, with mist and drizzle and a cold wind. Perfect weather in fact for Kinder.
