This was my second attempt at reaching the Kinder plateau via Ringing Roger, in consecutive weeks. I’d abandoned the previous ascent after really bad weather, including strong winds and blizzard conditions on the way up. I wasn’t really prepared for that, so applied caution and went back. This time, the snow was lying but not flying and I’d come prepared. The walk is one of the classic Peak District treks, taking in the skyline around Edale. The ascent route is mostly easy with a good wide path, well used by lots of people.
