A fairly miserable day with no views on the tops and bitter cold and windy
Parking by the road, for those that arrive early enough
Still water in the village, no wind yet
A short road section for the walk-in, just to the Hartsop Above How ridge – seen ahead
Leaving the road and following the narrow path up Hartsop Above How
Looking back towards Patterdale
Rain starts to spit as we head up Hartsop Above How
Fairfield in cloud from the path up to Hartsop Above How
Hartsop Above How and the path ahead in mist
The path up Hart Crag – very steep in places
Even more misty summit of Fairfield, with a howling wind and cold rain – lovely – we narrowly beat a party of five to the shelter 🙂
Arriving at Grisedale seemed to take forever – I thought we’d missed it for a while, but then it loomed out of the mist
