A wonderful summer day and another mid-week walk into the Bowland Fells. Today the intention was to reach the centre point of the UK, as defined by the OS and to bag a couple of trig points and HuMPs along the way. After reaching the centre point though I found my energy dissipating fast and didn't have the legs for the final couple of climbs. The mostly pathless terrain of the whole walk had taken it's toll - I really must remember not to underestimate how tiring heather bashing across peat hags can be! A great day though, with superb visibility from the tops :)
