A last mid-week walk before I start my new job, joined by Rambling Pete on what was forecast to be a cloudy and possibly rainy day. In the end the rain held off, but it was warm and sunny at the end. Whernside is a quiet summit in the middle of the week, unlike the bedlam it becomes at the summer weekends, full of three-peakers. We spotted the steam train crossing the viaduct below. A good day out with excellent company.
