Walking with Chris and Dean on the first day of their Pennine Way. An early start saw me catching the 05:50 train from Manchester Piccadilly to Edale and reaching their campsite on Kinder by 08:20. We walked through mist, a chilling wind and several hours of falling snow. The drifts on Bleaklow were incredible, several feet deep in places and we all fell through at time. A great day's walking and felt pretty good at the end, except when I was told all trains from Hadfield were cancelled, so I had to haggle with a taxi driver to take me to Piccadilly, with the money I had in my wallet!
