A much warmer and more pleasant day, as I met Chris just outside Bellingham and we walked across squelchy ground to pick off Deer Play and Whitley Pike. The sun was out and it was warm as the day progressed, but there's been lots of rain here recently and the ascent and crossing of Brownrigg Head was a right bog trot, dodging the worst of the wet bits and trying to find somewhere to sit and rest. The track through the forest is another dull plod, but with good company it's not all that bad. Noticed the increased height today and feeling the lack of fitness.
