Ilam to Pilsbury

A wander through the Dales of the White Peak with Matt; not the heights this time, but the valleys and water-side paths. A great campsite experience the night before we started, with a roaring fire and beer and a great night's sleep. Walking from the car parked in Ilam and through the iconic Dovedale in what was warm, but not exceptional weather. A long stop in Milldale for a brew and to annoy the ducks was followed by a meal and beer in Hartington before heading out into the worsening weather to look for a secluded pitch. Wind was the main problem in the end, but we found a semi-sheltered spot behind a wall. First outing for my new tent, where I found the poles to be rather inadequate, but saved by the loan of a walking pole from Matt.
