Misty and cold all day, but no wind. Ascent of Blackden Brook is my new favourite way to gain the Kinder Plateau. Wonderful track beside the brook, with steep scramble at the end, which today was covered in drifts which meant I had to divert up a steep snow slope to gain the edge. Tough going from that point on with deep drifts in the groughs, most of which would not take my weight and I was waist deep on many occasions. Even managed to break through a snow bridge over a hidden stream and that was interesting! Great days walking on the edge, with only a couple of other walkers seen as they ascended Crookstone.
