My first solo hill walk in almost 9 months! A rather grey and overcast day rescued by no wind and some great winter walking conditions. Busy old morning; saw more people on the ascent that I ever have before, even in summer. Managed to overtop both boots crossing river in Birchen Clough and not quite frozen spots caught me out more than once. Deep snow in places made for hard going, but a perfect walk to return to the hills and an old favourite route that I have not done for a while.
