If not for the wind, today would have been the perfect walking day. Fresh, sunny for the most part and great company. The crossing of Arkengarthdale Moor was splendid, a fine path with spectacular views of the remote moor and a partial solar eclipse to top it off, the resulting light was extraordinary. Out of the wind for the walk through the valley was a beautiful respite and Reeth topped of the tanks for a tough climb at the end of a long day, up and over Greets Hill.
