Burnhope Seat

A tough walk, mainly due to the wind and the underfoot conditions that were consistently boggy, wet and uneven. Barely a single path once I left the road at Coldberry and headed across to Three Pikes. Despite what the Nuttalls say in thier book, the section out to Three Pikes is no worse than the rest of the walk, it's all pretty bad. Burnhope Seat was the worst of all and it took no end of diversions and meanders to walk the couple hundred yards from the trig point to the summit. Nice lunch break in a sheltered spot amongst the cotton grass on Harwood Common. Weary by the end and pleased to be back at the car.
