A glorious morning turned overcast but came good again in the afternoon before looking a bit grim for the final mile or so between Hawes and Hardraw. Spent a leisurely hour at Sedbusk sitting on the bench and gas-bagging. Again, felt tough today despite almost no perceptible height gain, but fitness is generally poor, so hardly surprising. We gave in to the lure of the bunkbarn at the Green Dragon in Hardraw as the forecast was for high winds and rain and it didnt seem prudent to spend the night on Great Shunner Fell. Had tea in the chippy in Hawes and a few pints in the GD afterwards.
